ITLB-index

Shipments sent via ON TIME Distribution and ON TIME Sprint are subject to the ITLB surcharge. This surcharge is based on the official independent index that monitors overall costs in the transport sector on a monthly basis. See www.itlb.be. 

The ITLB index takes into account, among other things, the costs of fuel, tyres, repairs and maintenance, depreciation, driving personnel, insurance, direct vehicle costs, and financing costs. The starting point for calculating the ITLB surcharge depends on your tariff. This may be January 2008, January 2017, or Januari 2024.

The ITLB surcharge cannot be negative and is calculated on prices before discounts. 

As a reference for our services, we use the “National General Transport” index.

Below, you will find the evolution of the ITLB index with January 2024 as the base reference point. 

 

Exceptional recalculation of the ITLB index

Due to the exceptional increase in oil and fuel prices, costs within the transport sector have risen significantly. To accurately reflect this reality, it was necessary to recalculate the ITLB index.

In this context, the Institute for Road Transport & Logistics Belgium has recalculated the ITLB index. ON TIME will implement this adjustment as of March 17, 2026, ensuring that rates are once again aligned with the current evolution of fuel and operational transport costs.

 

This recalculation ensures that the calculation of transport rates remains transparent and up to date.

  • Surf naar www.ITLB.be. Klik rechts bovenaan op 'Kostprijsindices'. Selecteer vervolgens het jaar en de maand waarvoor u de index wil raadplegen, en klik op 'Tonen'.

    Vervolgens krijgt u al de beschikbare indexen voor de gegeven maand. Voor ON TIME gebruiken wij de index 'Algemeen Nationaal' als referentie.

  • Op ON TIME Online wordt de index maandelijks gepubliceerd, vóór de aanvang van de nieuwe maand. In de linker kolom kan u navigeren naar de ITLB-toeslag die voor u van toepassing is.

  • Indien u tarieven hebt met ON TIME ITLB-index 2017, is het startpunt (0-punt) van berekening de ON TIME ITLB-index van januari 2017. De index is gebaseerd op de gepubliceerde ITLB-index van de voorafgaande maand. Dus, het startpunt januari 2017 is in feite op basis van de gepubliceerde ITLB index van december 2016, zijnde 148,56.

    Bijvoorbeeld: in september 2022 was de ITLB-index 112,46. Dit is de verhoging tov basis december 2021. Om deze index terug te rekenen naar de basis 2017, dient deze vermenigvuldigd te worden met 1,7489. Zie hiervoor de "Verklarende Nota 2022" op de ITLB website op pagina 5. Na de vermenigvuldiging komt de index voor september 2022 op 196,68. Omgerekend naar het referentiepunt bedraagt de index dus (196,68/148,56)-1. De ON TIME ITLB index is dus 32,39%, die van toepassing is voor oktober 2022.

    Voor de index van ON TIME Sprint te berekenen wordt er van de algemene index 5,6% af getrokken. Deze correctie maken we omdat er in Sprint geen kilometerheffing van toepassing is, of indien dat wel het geval is deze apart wordt aangerekend. Voor bovenstaande voorbeeld, bedraagt de ON TIME ITLB-index voor sprint dus (32,39-5,6) 26,79%.
